The pile itself is composed of two sections. The lead section is a shaft
with helical plates welded to the pipe. The helices allow the pier to be
installed with almost not soil disruption. The top of the pile is used to
transfer the torque to the helical lead section during installation. The
lead and the top are connected via a coupler with a three bolt connection.
The length of the pier section is limited to the available reach of the
installation equipment and/or various types of existing structures. The
installation occurs by mechanically rotating the pier with downward
pressure. After the installation, the pier transfers the structure's load
to the helical plates in the soil.
The pier shown to the right includes the patented ULTRA bracket used for either lifting or stabilizing commercial structures. The support bracket allows for vertical adjustment of the footings of a building.
